Why are my toolbars black?
- Menu, Favorites, and Command bars are all blacked out. This occurs randomly-some days it's there, some days it's not. Oh, and sorry this is in a Vista category, but it won't take me to any XP topic- I don't know the secret password/handshake that gets me there.

Hello Jerseycidiot,
Thanks for posting your question. This is a Windows Vista support forum but I’ll be happy to offer some suggestions that might get you pointed in the right direction. If these suggestions do not assist I would recommend checking Windows XP specific resources:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb <Link to KB>
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp <Link to Windows XP home page>
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/usingwindowsxp.mspx <Link to Windows XP ‘Help and How to’>
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups.mspx <Link to Windows XP newsgroups>Usually this occurs because the font used for menus and title bars has been changed. Try changing your theme back to the Windows Standard to see if it clears up the problem. If not, be sure and share this information with the XP community.
Thanks,
Jack

- How about that!?
Follow Jack's advice!!!
I had had blacked out tool bars for some time. I finally said to myself, "I'm gonna see what bing says about it" I typed in black toolbars, and that brought me here. WOW I love this!!
I read what Jack had written and went straight to my start, control panel and changed the theme back to Windows XP. (It had been set to one of my pictures, so that was the problem- like Jack said.) And- Voila! I can read my toolbars again!!!
THANKS JACK!!!
