Although similar questions have been asked, I cannot find a definitive answer in the Forum.  It involves the Microsoft Vista News Feed gadget.  It worked until Monday of this week when it failed to update.  The last feed is dated Monday, and uninstalling and reinstalling the gadget does not help.  One response suggested downloading a possible update from Microsoft, but there were no associated instructions as to how to do that.  To complete the description of the problem, the feed window still appears in the Sidebar, but there is no current news.

    Hi Racer68,

Thank you for posting on the forums.

Have you tried restoring your system prior to Monday? Try the steps from this article on

How to repair the operating system and how to restore the operating system configuration to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista

Hope that will fix it for you, please post back and let us know.

Thanks, John.  I fixed the news feed the same way others suggested; i.e., I added new feeds and came back later and restored MSNBC.  That's working fine now.  In the meantime, MSN Premium quit letting me open attachments.  A Mcrosoft Tech said there is a conflict between IE 8 and MSN Premium on 64 bit processor machines.  Have you heard of this?
