    Hello lmw42,

To restore the operating system back to an earlier date, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list.

    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

    3. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click next.

    4. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click next.

    5. Click Finish.

The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.

Before you run the installer, Right click on it > Run as administrator, does that work? If you can't run it administrator then you arent the administrator!

    Hi lmw42,

Please provide us with some more information about the type of games you are trying to install.

    ·         When we start Windows in Normal startup mode, several programs start automatically and run in the background. These programs may include third-party antivirus programs, system utility programs, and other programs that you installed. These programs may interfere when you install, run, or use a game.

    ·         Our first plan of action will be to determine if any third party program is causing the issue.

    ·         Please follow the steps mentioned in the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 to determine if any third party program is interfering.

    ·         You may also want to perform system restore.

I am trying to download games from pogo, bigfish games, and others.  Like I said I had no problem until last week.  Also when I try to play games on shockwave it tells me to download adobe flash player and when I do it says it is installed but when I try to pull it up on my programs I dont see it.  I have Windows Vista.  Is there a way that I can do a restore for two weeks ago maybe?

If you have flash player and it is not running the games go here to completely uninstall adobe flash player.

Adobe Flash Player is a plug-in so you can run those certain games on pogo and bigfish. Once you install adobe flash player for your web browser, which is here . If you use IE browser select the IE version, if anything else use the other selection box. Install the flash player, then go to either pogo site or bigfish and start playing your games.

If this is the correct answer make sure to mark this as the answer! Thanks
