My daughter emailed me 5 photos as attachments, and when I try to open the files, I get "the image is too large. (too many bytes) error message.  I am using Vista Home Premium, and Windows Mail.  In my old computer which used XP, I was given the choice of letting Outlook Express automatically resize any photos I was sent, or which I sent.
The body of the email shows the photos, but they take up too much space, and I can't view them as a regular photo. The photos were sent in the jpeg format.

    Hi Anonnymouse31,

Thank you for posting on the forums.

Try Right clicking on the photos and choose “save as” and save it on your desktop.  You should be able to view, edit, resize, etc. You might also want to try downloading a copy of Windows Live Mail. It’s  Windows Mail with some additional bells and whistles.  You can download it from here:

    http://download.live.com/wlmail

Hope that helps, please post back and let us know.

John:  What is the advantage to downloading live.com/wlmail?  Would I have to re-enter all of my address book entries?  Excuse the dumb questions, I'm not very technical, and 78 years "young", and love using the computer, and regretting the new computer, and Vista.  Would it be possible to eliminate Vista, and go back to XP??   Thank you!
