    I have downloaded this file about 20 times, and yet it still tells me to update again and again.

    Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954430)

    Download size: 5.4 MB

    You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

    Update type: Important

    A security issue has been identified in Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) that could allow an attacker to compromise your Windows-based system and gain control over it. You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. Once you have installed this item, it cannot be removed.

    I've tried looking everywhere around the forums, nothing works. I uninstalled the update, and installed it again. It worked for a while, but then it told me to prompt the update again.

    Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7 RC; Win7 RTM) when posting in a forum or newsgroup. Please do so in your next reply.

    Assuming WinXP, see...

    Security updates for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 may repeatedly appear in the update list on Microsoft Update or on Windows Update:

    Alex, 99% of us are volunteers here (see my sig) and have busy lives outside of this forum. I notice that it took you 14 hours to reply to my post so please have the same consideration I've extended to you. Thank you.

    For additional assistance, please see the "How to obtain help..." and "Known Issues" sections of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954430/

    PS: "Vista 32bit" is not your full Windows version...unless neither SP1 nor SP2 is installed, in which case you have much more serious problems than KB954430 being reoffered.

    <edit>
    And I see that you do, in fact, have more serious problems: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/thread/e241ba4a-7b83-49f2-b179-328ef21de2d3

    I am no longer monitoring this thread.
