Why do I keep getting the  Windows Defender alert in my icon tray referring to needing to perform a scan ,as a scan is "overdue", when I have setting to run a daily scan (which is what is happening). I am therefore up-to-date on this on a daily basis and yet I still get the alerts. How do I get this OFF the tray (ie-stop getting alerts for a non-existent problem?)

Does the daily scan actually kick in?  What I mean by that is when its time for the "scheduled scan", is your computer on? If not, then that scheduled scan would have been missed.  Is "your" scan a FULL Scan?

You state "I have a setting to run a dailly scan (which is what is happening), therefor I am just trying to clairfy its actually running :)  - thanks

Yes, the scan is actually being performed daily. When I tick scan status it is showing that computer is running normally and is showing the daily scan time and when it was performed. I will, however, double check that computer is on during scheduled scan time and see if that works. Thanks!
