Answer__Welcome Screen and User do not match

In the User Module of the Control Panel, I recently changed my Administrator name .  It appears on the Welcome Screen, but not in the Explorer as a user.  I changed the path in the explorer to my new name, but when I try to open from the Welcome Screen, the path goes back to my old name, which is no longer there and I get an error message that it cannot find my old name path.

I recently installed Office 7 which some how tries to find the path to my old name, and when I try to open any of the programs, I get the same error message.

I know I screwed up Royally.  Can any one help?

    Hi DaddyRay,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

We would like to get more information from you, to help troubleshoot your issue. Please answer the following questions as best you can.

    ·         How did you change the path of the new name using explorer?

First I would suggest that you perform a system restore to point when it was working fine.

You may want to perform a System Restore on the computer to restore back the previous settings.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

    2. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

    3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.
