If I try to change permisions for this folder I get an error message that reads "Error while applying security".

My user is an administrator on this computer.

Any help will be really appreciated.

    Hi Ciro H4,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum.

Did you make any changes to your computer?

Here’s an article that talks about restoring the security settings to the default settings in Windows Vista.

Click the Fix it to reset security settings automatically.

How do I restore security settings to the default settings?

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;313222

After resetting security settings, standard user accounts may no longer appear on the log on screen when you start your computer or try to switch users. This occurs because standard user accounts are removed from the Users group when you reset Windows security settings. To add the affected user accounts back to the Users group, follow these steps:

    1.    Click Start, and then All Programs. Or click Programs.

    2.     Right-Click on Command Prompt, and then click Run As Administrator.

    3.    In the Command Prompt window, type net users and then press ENTER. A list of user accounts is displayed.

    4.    For each accountname listed in the Command Prompt that is missing from the log on or switch user screen, type the following command and then press ENTER:
    net localgroup users accountname /add

See if you can access the specific folder after performing the above steps.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Shinmila.

I had already solved my problem by reseting changing ownership to the folder using the Administrator account and then changing it back to my account.

I am having similar problems with other folders so I will try out your recommended solution later on.

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards,
