· If you are running a beta version of Microsoft Security Essentials, we encourage you to upgrade to the latest version. Upgrading now will help ensure continuous protection against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
To check which version of Microsoft Security Essentials you are running, select the ‘About Microsoft Security Essentials’ under the Help drop-down menu found on the top right corner of the Microsoft Security Essentials Home tab.
Under System Information, you will see a version number for Microsoft Security Essentials.
To ensure the smoothest possible experience, please follow one of these options:· Click on the ‘Upgrade Now’ button on the Microsoft Security Essentials Home tab.
· Select ‘Upgrade Microsoft Security Essentials’ under the Help drop-down menu.
· Visit the Microsoft Security Essentials home page, click ‘Download Now’ and install the latest version.
Note: If you’re new to Microsoft Security Essentials and would like to install it, use the third option above
