Microsoft Office Outlook 7 NOT opening?!

Tried opening my outlook from task bar as usual - opens for a split second AND all of a sudden closes on its own - I checked for changes saying there was modification yesterday evening ... had computer since 2007 - not problems until now - any ideas - thank you in advance!!!!!! HELP

i recently upgraded to windows 7 but didn't like it so re-installed vista,now it says i have no hardware for the internet,what have i done wrong and how can i fix it ?

I am unable to send emails with windows mail. I have to go into Tiscali at the moment to do this. I have gone through the troubleshooting help but I am still unable to send mail. I can receive only. Error messages that come up are - Socket Error - 10060 and Error - 0x800CCC0E. Can anyone help.

P.S - my computer skills are still a bit basic so no complicated solutions please. Thanks for any replies to my problem.

Vista I.E. 8 problem relating to downloading Microsoft Fix-It solutions

Hello,

My problem relates to I.E. 8 and the inabilty to use Active-X successfully. Primarily when attempting to download, Microsoft Fix-It. The error msg. received within the Information Bar states; " An addon for this website failed to run". I believe the addon is; "DiagWebControl.Cab".

My environs are: Dell E520 Dimension with preloaded software, Vista 32 bit with SP2, executing Verizon Security Software and 3 GB of RAM.

I did not download IE8 explicitly, three months ago it updated automatically. I have viewed many Forums for the last month looking for the possible answer but have not found the magic bullet. I have also tried to change the security settings within the Internet zone relating to any setting that controls ACTIVE-X, plugins and scripts but the same error always appears, i.e. ADDON FAILED TO RUN. I have also disabled/removed all other addons but that did not work. Protected Mode is "ON" and DEP is "OFF".

I am running Vista Ultimate x64 and have an ASUS EAH3870X2 (ATi) video card running dual monitors. This issue occurred when I first got this computer but went away with one of the automatic updates. Now the issue is back and I haven't installed anything new on this computer for some time (weeks) before the issue started to occur again. In addition, I have uninstalled the Catalyst control center for the video card, downloaded the most recent interface and video drivers from ASUS as well as tried running every fix for DirectX issues I can find on Microsoft's sites. Although none of these things seemed to have any affect, a day after installing the new drivers and DirectX 'fixes', the issue went away... but only for a day and now it is occurring again. I have searched countless hours for a resolution to this issue without any luck and it irritates me to no end that the 3 programs that aren't working together, Vista, Media Center, and the OS games are all Microsoft products and are installed at the same time yet there is seemingly no solution to this issue from the very provider of all 3 programs. I do not play any other games on this machine and do not know what other installed programs may be using DirectX, but none of them are encountering troubles and returning error messages.

I cannot open the default profile in outlook 2007 since service pack 2 was installed on my vista ultimate 64-bit edition machine by windows update. I receive the error "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window." I have created a new profile and it works ok, but would really like to get the settings from the other profile. Is there anyway to recover this apparently "broken" profile?

Difficulty in receiving e-mails in Windows Mail. About 30% of the time, the e-mails download with no problem. The rest of the time, I get error messages.

Th error message reads as "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems or a longperiod of inactivity." The error # is 0x800 CCC0F. I contacted my ISP and they confirmed that the settings are correct. I also thought it might be my anti-virus software (Kaspersky AV2009). So, I uninstalled the anti virus software using their uninstaller program. Afterwards, I would get an error message that reads as Account: pophm.xxxxx.xx, Server: pophm,xxxxx.xx, Protocol: POP3, Port:995, Secure (SSL): Yes, Error# 0x800 CCC13. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

I have scanned 50 pictures as a powerpoint slideshow. Now I don't know how to link them together to create the slideshow with music.

Secunia PSI indicated that Java needed to be updated as there was a security risk. Followed the update procedure from Java , however, the update failed and gave error 25099. When I looked at the installed programs Java was no longer present. I tried to use Revo Uninstaller, but Java was no longer present. I cannot uninstall Java and cannot install Java. Have run: CCleaner, Windows Install Cleanup, Glary Utilities, Registry Mechanic, Tune-up Utilities and AMUST registry Cleaner. Have tried to install Java with Anti-virus and Threatfire switched off, but all to no avail.
Java install attempts via: jre-6u17-windows-i586s and more recently with JavaSetup6u17-rv. Each time the same error message is given and the install failed.
I am not into registry editing as have had bad experience in the past. Can anyone suggest a way to install the latest version of Java or get back to the old copy?

TV setup Problem in Windows Media Center Vista

I start to set-up the TV setting in Windows Media Center. The only TV Setup that is Downloaded is Digital Antena. The Media Center was working on November 14, 2009, but on November 21, 2009 the Tv setting was switch to Digital Antena with out me knowing. I use to have DirecTV Hookup to Media Center. I havwe installed all avalible updates and reinstalled the TV Tuner. I do not have a Digital Antena

Any help is apprciated.

I did a scan & received this message: Windows resource Protection found corrupted files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log. When I try to look at this it says access denied even though I am the only user of this computer. Could these corrupted files be affecting my Recycle bin? Can recyce bin be reinstalled? Thank you in anticipation of some help.

As previously stated I bought a new Zune HD today, I went and installed the proper software for Windows Vista, hooked up my Zune and tried to get any apps or podcasts and it always gives me the error: C00D1197 (80070002).

I am really mad because I got this today as well as the 14 day free trial and it will not let me download anything. It even says when I go to look at music if I want to get the free trial and when I click on the link it only shows the options to purchase a 3 month subscription or a 1 month one. Any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated. Thank you.

I wanted to use system restore, but received an error after it ran awhile-

"The shadow copy provider timed out while flushing data to the volume being shadow copied. This is probably due to excessive activity on the volume. Try again later when the volume is not being used so heavily. (0x80042313)"

I am using MS Publisher 2007 (12.0.6501.5000)SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) that came bundled with my HPMedia Center PC running Vista 64 Bit.

When I go to use clip art in MS Publisher it asks for my Microsoft Visio Professional 2003 installation disk. I Browse to the CD drive where the disk and the file is but when I click OK the Error 25091. Setup failed to change the source is displayed in the new pop up window. I even tried coping the requested file to the local drive as well with the same results. The diectory it seams to be stuck looking at is the recovery partition which is unaccesablle except for rebuilding the system to the OEM new state.

our company recently installed sbs 2008 server and switched from myob to quickbooks 2009/2010 premier with 3 terminals we have tried for three months to get it to work with no luck the backup from quicken is almost a waste of a phone call is there a compatiblilty issue or is there anybody who knows how to make quciken work using their data servier manger in multi user mode help!!!!!!!!!!! please we our just about ready to throw quicken in the bin

dvd maker squishes the video

I have windows vista. When I use dvd maker, the preview looks perfect on my pc. After I burn the dvd, the menu still looks perfect but the actual movie looks squished and I now have side bars. Why does it change from what I see in the preview? If it's a codec problem could you give me a link?

Okay well I tried to create on but fail, I tried searching the internet, Failed to find out how, I Searched these forums...And Failed, So now I want to know, there is NO Speech Icon anywhere but in the control panel (the "Start Speech Recognition")and I don't like the "Start up when windows starts" and I don't like to navigate much, I would like to just click 2 times on the item on my desktop (although i might have to navigate to the icon ;)) Just a Simply Tutorial would be nice :D

I am trying to install iTunes and I get a popup that says, Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I am the admin on the computer so I don't see why I wouldn't have the privileges. I also have Safari 4.0.3 running and it works great. Could someone please tell me what to do and how to do it. Vista 64bit. Microsoft Works installed as bought, Office 2007 installed on top.

Works word processor module will only run when "run as administrator" is used. Otherwise it reports that files it needs are not available. All other modules do work.

Resolved when UAC is switched off on the account, but I dont want to run like that

Hi, I have an issue with my Cmd.exe application. What happens is, whenver I try to use the Cmd.exe.

It activates the program, however in a split second the program closes without me even doing anything to it. Then in another split second a pop up shows up and says this. "Windows is now shutting down" and it dissapears. Soon my Laptop begins to close all the other applications and begins to power down.

All my other programs and files are working properly after I have rebooted the laptop and I doubt that this issue is harmfull but rather of an inconvinience and annoyance.

I own a Acer Aspire 6850 and it comes with a pre installed Vista home premium OS.

The issue started about 2 days ago and I was trying to use the Cmd.exe application for pinging my network card and router for other reasons.

Can anyone please give me thier thoughts and ideas for this issue....or even a solution.

I'm also not an IT Pro but can understand enough instructions if it's easily identifiable.

While trying to install new security software on my computer, I keep getting the message that the Mcafee program that came with my computer needs to be removed. This was removed over a year ago. I previously had an earlier version of the security program I am attempting to install, on my computer. This did not have an issue installing. I have searched for the Mcafee program and have been unable to find any trace of it. Could you please assist me with this problem?

When I cut a movie on movie maker everything goes smooth, but when I preview it before I burn it on DVD, it cuts the movie clip short. Like when you view it the movie clips are cut shorter and not the whole clip is showing, that is frustrating.__

When attempting to install software, I receive the error and the installation cancels. Z: is a Buffalo Linkstation LS-XH1.0TL. Software installations failed: Autocad 2009, Revit 2009, Adobe Premiere Elements 8. I have attempted discoonecting the PC from the network. Windows Mail-Outgoing mail doesnt send

Hi,
I have windows mail, I am receiving incoming mail but my outgoing is not working. I went thru Bellsouth tech support and concluded that the problem is Windows, not bellsouth.

This is the following error message that shows up..

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hola', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I went to tools and in accounts-Servers
my incoming mail server is a POP3 and outgoing SMTP both say.... mail.bellsouth.net

then under the tab advanced... it says
Server port numbers
outgoing mail SMTP 25
Incoming mail POP3 110

I dont know what to do.. I need to respond to my business messages.

How to import .wab (windows address book (Outlook Express contacts) ) file into Outlook? I have no Outlook Express on my PC, just wab file brought from another PC.

When I try to install a program, I get a message that another program is being installed and to try back after the first one finishes. This has been happening for months.
