After you import a digital audio file or a digital video file into Microsoft Windows Movie Maker in Microsoft Windows Vista, the file may not play as expected. This issue may occur if the codec that is required to play the digital media file is not installed on the computer. A codec is software or hardware that is used to compress a digital media file and decompress a digital media file.
