QuestionOutlook 2007 crashing repeatedly

Since I installed it about a week ago, Outlook has repeatedly crashed upon launching. It started at about 1 in 8 loads, and is now up to about 3 out of 4. I consistently get the message:

    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
      Application Name:    OUTLOOK.EXE
      Application Version:    12.0.6423.1000
      Application Timestamp:    49b08185
      Fault Module Name:    StackHash_6ac4
      Fault Module Version:    6.0.6002.18005
      Fault Module Timestamp:    49e03821
      Exception Code:    c0000374
      Exception Offset:    000afaf8
      OS Version:    6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.2
      Locale ID:    4105
      Additional Information 1:    6ac4
      Additional Information 2:    f8d6126d1c132716ba2ed6d2b04e67c8
      Additional Information 3:    fcf9
      Additional Information 4:    c376c50f70b9b1ef70ef1cfbf863afa1

I've tried googling this particular exception code, but to no avail. I've also read several other forum posts and tried:
    -reinstalling Outlook
-changing my PST folder - got message "this action failed" or something similar when trying to add or remove PSTs
-running a scan on my PSTs - came up with some errors, but said they were fixed
    -deleting all add-ons
    -editing the registry (msacm.voxacm16 )
-starting in safe mode using outlook/safe in run:/, but was told that it couldn't be found

I'm also not running any of the commonly identified programs with known conflicts with Outlook. I do have iTunes, but I've deleted the Outlook Sync add-on. I use Vista Home 64 and Outlook 2007. I'm running McAfee Total Protection and Ad-Aware; I've tried shutting down Ad-Aware and running Outlook, but no dice.

What next? I don't want to switch to another program because I have an iPod Touch that I sync calendar and contacts to - that's the reason that I started with outlook in the first place!

    Thanks!

    Hi ammaries,

Thanks for posting your question. This is a Windows Vista support forum.

It seems that the issue is with the Microsoft Office & Outlook application. I would recommend checking Microsoft Office & Outlook specific resources:

    Hope the above information helps.

    Regards.

    A couple things:

    1. Usually a stackhash error is related to Java. Try clearing your Java cache by opening "Control Panel|Java" and delete the cache. I don't know ifthis will make a difference but give it a try.

    2. McAfee's email scanner is about the second biggest email troublemaker to be found in the known Universe.  You are much better off without it, regardless if it fixes this particular issue or not.  Left alone and in operation, I guarantee it WILL eventually do you dirt.  The way around this is to download the McAfee Removal Tool, use it to completely remove McAfee, then do a Custom re-install and elect to NOT install any email scanning.

Why You Don't Need Your Anti-Virus Program to Scan Your E-Mail

    Thanks so much, guys.
I've tried all of the above, and something seems to be working. I'll check frequently over the next 24 hours, and if all is still well I'll declare the issue resolved. Sharath - thanks for your advice; I posted to an Outlook forum as well, but I seem to be reading a lot about Vista-Outlook incompatibilities, so that's why I chose this forum :)

Their are no Vista / Outlook incompatibilities unless you refer to Outlook versions pre 2003
