    Hi Kristinextra,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

We would like to get more information from you, to help troubleshoot your issue. Please answer the following questions as best you can.

    ·         Is the computer connected to a Domain?

    ·         Are you able to go online?

    ·         What is the error message you receive with the windows update?

The Microsoft Windows Dynamic Cache Service will manage the working set size of the Windows System File Cache. For 64 bit systems this service helps to address the problem of excessive cached read I/O that could eventually consume all of physical memory. Sample source code and compiled files are included in the compressed file.

Microsoft Windows Dynamic Cache Service only supports the below list operating systems.

    • Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 editions; Windows Server 2003 x64 editions; Windows Server 2008 Datacenter; Windows Server 2008 Enterprise; Windows Server 2008 Standard; Windows Vista 64-bit Editions Service Pack 1; Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition; Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition

You may also check in the event viewer for any application crashes.

Thankyou so much for replying Halima, to answer your questions,
     A) Is the computor connected to a domain? Yes it is connected to a LAN internet service called melita.
B)Am I able to go online?        Only with extreem difficulty, very slowly, freezing often.
C)What error message appears at Update?   Diagnose Internet Connection, If I get the updates selected they will not download.
I have a 32bit machine, so the cache service seems not to be for me??
I would be very grateful if you can help with this problem, reformatting seems to be the only answer, is this so?
    Sincerly Kritinextra
