    Hi,

I would plug all your major devices in to be sure they are considered in the process.

Download means you receive the file onto your computer from the site you visited to get the file.

So what you really mean is when you RUN the Windows 7 Advisor should you have your devices plugged in.

The terminology can be confusing at times.

So you Download - SAVE - then go to where you put it - Right Click on - RUN AS ADMIN

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx

Download - SAVE   this is downloading the file.

When you to do the RUN AS ADMIN part you are RUNNING the file.

    Hope this helps.
