    1) When I installed IE8 it gave problems, so I unistalled it. Now when I try to customize IE7 page the settings are not saved, it reverts back to default screen
    2) I cannot change the weather from 'New York' When I try, I get 'This module needs Javascript to be enabled on your browser'. This browser is installed, but no Java section shows in IE7 settings listing to be able to enable.

    IE7 was fine before I installed IE8

    Hi steveb100,

Welcome to Windows Vista Answers Forums!

If the issue is caused by damaged or incompatible Internet Explorer settings or add-ons, you can usually resolve the problem by resetting Internet Explorer settings manually by following the steps or run the fix it.

    1.     Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).

    2.     Click Start. Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:

    inetcpl.cpl

    3.     The Internet Options dialog box appears.

    4.     Click the Advanced tab.

    5.     Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.

    6.     When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.

    7.     Start Internet Explorer again.

You may refer the following article to reset the Internet Explorer Settings.
