I try to log on.  I am the only person with profile on this computer but when I try to log on it sends me to a temporary desktop.  I cant get anything off my regular desktop. any help would be great.  I tried to restore the computer back to a later date to see if that will help but still nothing.

    Hello bubba23,

Thank you for posting.  It is possible that you user profile has been corrupted and this is why you are being booted to a temp desktop.  I am providing you with a Microsoft knowledge base article that explains how to use System Restore to log on when you lose access to an account.  Here is the link:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940765/en-us

If this is unsuccessful you will need to create a new account, give the new account Admin rights, and migrate your settings to the new account.

    Thanks,

    Jack

when i went to that site it told me to load my recovery disc that came with my computer.  well that wants to load everything back to original.  I dont know what to load off the application side of the disc.  so I didnt do anything.  I would like to save my documents and music that i have.  is that going to be possible to do.  it i create a new account and migrate my settings over or is it lost and I need to redo everything.
