    Hi Lenasofia,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers community.

What exactly are you reffering to?Is it the ballon tip that you get when you hover your mouse over the volume icon?

When was it last working fine?

    Method 1:

You can try restoring your computer to a point where your computer was not having this issue.

Open System Restore by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.
Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Note: Before you start System Restore, save any open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your computer.

    Method 2:

If you are reffering to the ballon tip, you can enable it doing some changes in the registry.

1). Click on Windows Vista Start, Run and type Regedit.exe

2). Navigate to the following registry subkey:

          HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced

3). Create a new REG_DWORD (32 bit) value named EnableBalloonTips

4). Double-click EnableBalloonTips, and then assign a value data of 1

        5). Exit the Registry Editor

6). Log off Windows Vista, and then log back on.
