HP QuickTouch On screen display has stopped working__name of event problem : APPCRASH__application name : HPKBDAPP.exe
- So yeah that message comes up after my Win Vista start up
and of course I'm unable to listen to anything on my computer
which is a Compaq Presario V3617LA
I tried updating my HP software to the latest available since I saw
that solved the issue on a couple other Questions posted on the site
descrbing the same error with the application "HPKBDAPP.exe"
and after power cycle that didn't really do anything =/
Anyway any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
and thanks for the taking the time to check out my questions.
Ps, I saw a similar post to mine, but my pc does not log off or restart by itself
it works perfectly fine, except for the audio part lol :)
1 person got this answerI do too

- Hi dyo89,
Welcome to Microsoft Answers!
So, even after updating your hp quicktouch software, you're still getting the error message at the startup and there is no audio on the computer.
I would suggest you to perform a clean boot
Clean boot uses minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps in eliminating software conflicts.
1. Click on Start; In the Start Search , type in msconfig and hit Enter .
2. Under the Services Tab, check on Hide all Microsoft Services .
3. Under the Startup tab, click on disable all and then click Ok .
4. If you get a prompt to restart the computer, click on Restart now .
When the computer is in a clean boot, the third party services and applications are disabled. Once the computer is restarted, check if the issue occurs at this time.
Check out this link which talks about how to perform a clean boot
Note: Follow all the steps given in the link to figure out which software is conflicting.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Do not forget to put the computer back to the Normal Startup once you figure out what software is conflicting.
If this step is of no help, I would suggest you to uninstall and re-install the HP QuickTouch Software.
Note: Follow the installation manual that came along with the computer to perform the above step
Let me know if this worked.
