Basically a clean boot will do what its name implies, cleanly boot the system running only the core elements of Windows, from that we can determine what application is causing instability. The steps are outlined below, you may also want to consider the PCs internal temperatures, as gaming can cause serious stress on any PC making temperatures higher than normal.<br/><br/>&quot;Clean Boot&quot;<br/><span class="EC_ecececname">Please follow these steps:</span> <table class="EC_MsoNormalTable" style="border-collapse:collapse" border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width:467.65pt;border:#a3a3a3 1pt solid;padding:4pt" width=624 valign=top> <p class="EC_MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt"><strong><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">How-to run Windows in Selective Startup (Clean Boot)…</span></strong><br/><br/></p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="border-bottom:#a3a3a3 1pt solid;border-left:#a3a3a3 1pt solid;width:467.65pt;border-top:medium none;border-right:#a3a3a3 1pt solid;padding:4pt" width=624 valign=top> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">1.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Click <strong>Start</strong>, click <strong>Control Panel</strong>, click <strong>System and Maintenance</strong>, click <strong>Administrative Tools</strong>, and then double-click <strong>System Configuration</strong>.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">2.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Click <strong>Continue</strong>, or provide Administrator credentials if prompted.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">3.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Click the <strong>General</strong> tab, and click <strong>Selective startup</strong>.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">4.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Under <strong>Selective startup</strong> uncheck <strong>Load startup items</strong>.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">5.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Click the <strong>Services</strong> tab, check the <strong>Hide all Microsoft services</strong> box, and then click <strong>Disable all</strong>.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">6.</span><span style="color:black;font-size:7pt">     </span><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">Click the <strong>Apply</strong>, then <strong>OK</strong>, and then <strong>Restart</strong>.</span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt"> </span></p> <p class="EC_MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';color:black;font-size:8pt">       After finishing restart, enable half of the services and reboot again to see if the problem returns.  If problems persist, continue to disable services one by one to determine the service causing the problem.</span></p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p class="EC_MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt"><span class="EC_ecececname">To reenable all, run the &quot;System Configuration Utility&quot;
