My updates are causing update problems for my graphic updates.
I update my NVIDIA graphics driver from NVIDIA. Then I get an update for my pc from windows to update my NVIDIA graphics driver. I do this and it removes my NVIDIA update back to its original state of none updatedness. The explanation I get is that my drivers will not allow the update. ???
I have an hp Pavilion, Vista home premium edition(x86 64-bit) Service Pack 2Direct X Version 10.0. 8gigs of ram, with an intel G31/G33/G35/P31/P35, Intel 82801IR (ICH9R). Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @2.33GHz, with a NVIDIA GeForce 9500DS(which is what I am trying to update).
Yes there is more information about the computer, I just hope its not necessary.1 person needs an answerI do too

Sounds like you are in bit of mess, i have never used ms graphics drivers as I have a Nvidia graghics card and the manufactures drivers do just fine you will find the ms drivers are only optional not a priority.
I would do a system restore and update the drivers to the latest through nvidia and see if your system is more stable.

GT4MU - Thanks for your responce to my problem. I was wondering if I had to update ms or not. I will let it ride or I will not update with the ms this time.
I will read up on how to do a system restore then follow through on that.

GT4U - Amend your MS Update settings to only install Critical updates, never install driver updates from MS Update unless that hardware is built by MS
