AnswerFlight Simulator X Deluxe Edition Error 1310

    Hello,

    I am running into a problem while installing my Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition.  I keep getting the error:

    Error 1310.Error writing to file: SimConnect.cat.  Verify that you have access to that directory.

    Any help would be appreciated!!!

         Give this a try and let us know the results.

    Unregister and reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type msiexec /unreg, and then press ENTER.
    3. Click Start, and then click Run.
    4. In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

    a.     Check if this issue persists with another user account as well?

    b.    Also specify which version of Operating system are you using?

     

    Windows Vista

    1.    Click Start, type programs and features in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

    2.    In the list of programs, click the third-party program that you want to remove, and then click Uninstall.

    3.    If you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the program, click Yes.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

    4.    Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the removal process.

    Microsoft Windows XP

    1.    Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

    2.    Click the third-party program that you want to remove in the list of installed programs.

    3.    Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the removal process.

    Method 2:

    Check with a different user account:

    To create a user account

    1.    To open User Accounts, click the Start button, click Control Panel, click User Accounts and Family Safety, and then click User Accounts.

    2.    Click Manage another account. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3.    Click Create a new account.

    4.    Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type, and then click Create Account.

    Unfortunately, changing user accounts didn't help.  I am using Vista Home basic.
