Video games graphics glitching
I have windows vista 32-bit, when I try to play video games recently they are haveing all sorts of graphic problems such as seeing through walls, or else not being able to read text on the screen because it appears and dissappears off the screen continually. Everything just seems very unstable and is not working right. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

- Hello Dan77097,
Thank you for returning. It seems that you might be over loading your video card. I would suggest either check for overheating of you video card and to reduce the graphics and resolution settings of the games. I would also check Nvidia.com for the latest drivers for your card.
Please let me know if this helps you.

Sorry it took me a while to respond, I wasn't at the computer for a few days. I installed new drivers from Nvidia and this fixed the issue. It seems to be working great, thank you for your help Zack.

The Witcher is not displaying texts very well, but the map seems stable otherwhyes, and counterstrike's map glitches badly to the point where walls dissappear and reappear randomly. My video card is a Nvidia GeForce 7300LE. Thanks again.

- I got the same problem too when i play GRANDTHEFT AUTO 4.Do i need to know my video card model to install a driver at nvidia.com or just any will do?
- Hey Dabs:
You can find all the details about your graphics card by utilizing the "Device Manager" from the Control Panel:
1. Click on the Start Menu in the lower left corner of your display.
2. Select "Device Manager".
3. Click on the "+" symbol next to the "Display Adaptors" listing.
4. Right click on your device that is now displayed.
You can then attempt to update the drivers from within Device Manager or visit the drivers page at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us.
Let me know if this helps.

- Hi,
Yes you need to know the model number of the video card and the maker, also you need to to know what OS you're using in order for you to download the appropreate driver version for your gfx card and OS. Downloading just any driver from any gfx maker without knowing either your OS or gfx card can give you problems on your system. What capacity is your graphics card. Go on the internet to find a Windows Vista 32 bit driver and then install it.
- Could someone tell me how to fix my standerd vga graohics adapter. When i go to device manager and click display adapter and then the graphics adapter it telll me "this device can not start (code 10)" can someone tell me how i can fix it please?
- Hi,
Description of Code 10-related errors that Device Manager generates in Windows-based computers
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943104/
Use these methods to update your drivers manually.
This is my generic how to for proper driver updates :
This utility makes it easy to see which versions are loaded :
DriverView - Free - utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,
version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html
For Drivers check System Maker as fallbacks and Device Maker's which are the most current.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write down the make and complete model of your
video adapter - double click - Driver's tab - write down the version info. Now click UPdate Driver (this
may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers) - then Right Click - Uninstall - REBOOT
this will refresh the driver stack.
Repeat that for Network - Network Card (NIC), Wifi, Sound, Mouse and Keyboard if 3rd party with their
own software and drivers and any other major device drivers you have.
Now go to System Maker's site (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (as rollback) and then Device Maker's site
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI as examples) and get their latest versions. (Look for BIOS, Chipset and software
updates at System Maker's site while there.)
Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.
Always check in Device Manager - Drivers tab to be sure the version you are installing actually shows up. This
is because some drivers rollback before the latest is installed (sound drivers particularly do this) so install a
driver - reboot - check to be sure it is installed and repeat as needed.
Repeat at Device Makers - BTW at Device Makers DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - check manually by model.
Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html
If you update drivers manually then it is a good idea to disable Driver Installations in Windows Updates,
this leaves Windows Updates ON however it will not install drivers which will usually be older and cause
issues. If Updates suggests a new driver then HIDE it (Right Click on it) and then go look for new ones
manually if you wish.
