- Hi,
I'm assuming you are referring to Internet Explorer, as that is the only place that icon would exist in a normal installation. Click on Tools/Toolbars/Customize, you should see "Size" listed in the left column. Select it and then click the "add" button and exit the dialog.
If it doesn't immediately appear, or it was already in the right column, then right click a blank area near the toolbar and uncheck "lock the toolbars". You should now see a divider (vertical column of dots) next to the toolbar that you can grab and slide over until your icon appears at left. When finished, make sure to recheck the "lock the toolbars" option.

Hi Bumblebee67,
Welcome to Microsoft Answers.
· Was there any changes done prior to the issue?
· Was it an icon to increase/decrease the web page size or any other application?
A) As a work around, you may perform a system restore.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
2. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.
4. Click Finish.
5. The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.Check the link “What is system Restore” http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/9f6d755a-74bb-4a7d-a625-d762dd8e79e51033.mspx
Please provide us with more information regarding the missing icon if system restore does not help.
