AnswerProblems using speech recognition with IE8!

I am dependent on speech recognition to control my computer because of a handicap and now that I have upgraded to Windows 7 and IE8 I have some major problems.

In the first place if I say favorites and select the favorites from the menu bar I did not get the pull down menu, nothing happens.  If I select the favorites with the star it works OK and it works OK if I say show numbers and select the number for favorites in the menu bar I get the pull down.

When I get the pull down menu and say a command that has multiple choices the numbers that should appear to give the choices go behind the pull down menu so I cannot see them!  I reported this problem early on in the beta releases of IE8 and obviously it was ignored!  Making computer usage much more difficult for handicapped persons.

    Hi Msradell2 ,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows community Answers Forum!

If you've used Speech Recognition in the presence of anyone's voice or any sound it'd not work the next time you use it.  After getting so many mixed signals, it'd not recognize your voice very wel.

You may want to reset and check if it works fine

This is how you do it :

First go to Speech Recognition in Control Panel
    Capture1
    Click on "Advanced speech options"
From here you are presented with a dialogue that will allow you to create new speech profiles for the speech recognition engine and manage existing profiles, as well as several other options.
    Capture

    Hope this information helped!
