I tried to find shell extension which causes the problem. The only thing I found is the following: if I disable the OLE32 Extension for HTTP (HKLM/Software/Classes/Protocols/Handler/http), then I can right-click without the crash, but only once - next time I right-click it crashes again (seems like the problematic extension is being still loaded after I click for the first time).

    Did anybody see this issue?

My system: Windows 7 RC build 7100 64-bit, NVIDIA 7600GT GPU (drivers ver. 186.18), 4Gb RAM, Gigabyte 965P-DS3 motherboard.

Sorry bout that... clicked the wrong icon...

I had the same issue. I downloaded the ShellExView program. Sorted the Types and located the Context Menu items.

I disabled the "NVIDIA CPL Context Menu Extension" item and the problem disappeared... FOR NOW...
    Try that...

you can get the shellexview at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

    Good luck!

If looking at the context menu of a shortcut crashes Explorer, you either have a bad video driver, or your system files are corrupt. I would run the command 'sfc  /scannow' to try to correct corrupt system files. If no help, I would try installing your video driver in Vista Compatibility Mode. Put the chipset drivers on the desk, and rightclick for 'troubleshoot compatibility.'

Uninstalling video driver didn't help, neither did installing it in Vista compatibility mode. And sfc /scannow says everything is OK...
