TV subtitles in Windows 7 Media Center
- Hello
I live in the uk and currently have a sony vaio media pc which i watch TV through via Media Center in Vista.
My partner is polish and i would like to be able to show uk subtitles for her.
I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 as i have read that you can view UK subtitles (for freeview channels, i am not interested in sky) via it's version of media center but i can not get this confirmed anywhere. WOuld like to make 100% sure that it does before i pay the money to upgrade as i have heard that they work in the us but not in the uk.
I have read that the TV pack upgrade for vista makes them available, but i would rather upgrade to 7 anyway.
Any help in confirming would be great

Hi Mr Zevon,
Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Community site.
If you are comparing with Vista Media Center without TV Pack then it also adds quite a lot of extra digital TV functionality (particularly for those outside the US). In the UK it now supports Digital Interactive Text, both DVB and World Systems Teletext subtitles (including recording them), DVB-S native tuner support (FTA-only and not DVB-S2 at first glance it appears) and H264 video (not sure if HE-AAC audio is supported - which is required for quite a few new DVB-T territories)
